A Chicago woman is accused of driving drunk and killing her passenger in a crash near Peotone. Illinois State Police say 32-year-old Rita Mullins drove a sports car off the side of I-57 Sunday night and hit a tree near the Peotone Road. Her passenger was airlifted to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead. Mullins is behind bars at the Will County Adult Detention Facility on a felony count of aggravated DUI with no valid insurance. She also faces several other charges including failure to reduce speed and improper lane usage.
