The law enforcement community plans a crack-down on all impaired drivers now through Labor Day Weekend. Area sheriff departments and Illinois State Police will have trained eyes on the roadways, looking for motorists driving under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, and other drugs. Police will also be watchful for anyone driving unbuckled or transporting improperly restrained children.
The enforcement is part of a larger nationwide effort “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The police agencies remind everyone to always designate a sober driver if you are planning to celebrate with any intoxicants during the Labor Day Weekend.
