Dwight moves toward possible ICE detention center

City leaders in the Livingston County community of Dwight are picking local jobs over the political opinions of out-of-town protestors. Dwight's city council last night voted to annex 88 acres into the city so developers can possibly open an ICE detention center. A number of protestors from Illinois State University or other out-of-town locales shouted their disapproval.

Dwight Village President Jared Anderson says the project will means hundreds of jobs for Dwight if the community is chosen. The Council voted 5-2 to OK the annexation.
