Dwight junior-high science teacher Mary Schultz has been nominated by the staff at Heartland Community College's Challenger Learning Center for the June Scobee Rodgers Innovative Educator Award. She's one of 43 nominees from across the country. The award recognizes an educator who understands the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and math education while demonstrating enthusiasm and passion in teaching STEM subjects.
Schultz is an 8th grade physical science and astronomy teacher at Dwight Junir High School. She's been motivated since rthe Space Shuttle Challenger project, having worked to keep the spirit sof the program alive at the Challenger Learning Center. Schultz will participate in the 33rd mission of the learning center April 20th.
