Eastern Illinois Mutual Aid Association urges fire safety

Iroquois County fire departments are asking for cooperation in controlling fires as the spring clean-up gets underway. Controlled-burns can often times burn out of control.  But those controlled-burns can also unneccesarily alert fire crews. People burning to rid their property of tree branches, brush, ditch banks and CRP ground are asked to contact the county dispatch center or their respective fire chief in advance.

Those people starting the fires can provide their name, location and what's being burned to help control the situation. The Dispatch Center can be reched at 815-432-4918.
