Utility crews from Ameren-IL and Eastern Illini Electric Cooperative made substantial progress Friday in getting customers back online following the Wednesday night storms that took out power lines. More than 2300 –hundred customers were without service early Thursday. The storms affected several Iroquois County communities.
Clean-up efforts continue.
The Iroquois County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) reports Lutheran Church Charities will deploy chainsaw crews to assist with clean-up today (Saturday) – weather permitting.
Motorists are advised to be aware of lingering debris on roadways, but all roads closed earlier are now open.
Health officials also remind the public to throw out spoiled food.
