Emergency Help for Oklahoma Tornado Victims

Iroquois County organizations are rallying the troops to help the tornado victims in Moore, Oklahoma.

The Trinity Lutheran Church at Cissna Park and the Martinton Fire Auxiliary are collecting items that’ll be trucked to Oklahoma.  Non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies, bottled water, and other household items are being collected.

 The food items and cleaning supplies can be brought to the Martinton Fire House today (5/29) from 5 -7 pm.  A truckload of supplies will be driven to Oklahoma this week.

 The Trinity Lutheran Church at Cissna Park will collect helpful supplies thru the end of the second week in June.  A semi-trailer will be delivered to the victims.  Monetary donations will be accepted.

Oklahoma’s Emergency Management Agency reports 2400 homes were damaged or destroyed.  Some 10,000 people were affected, including the 24 confirmed dead.
