ISP D-21 emergency travel advisory

Ashkum, IL- Illinois State Police District 21 covering Kankakee, Iroquois, and Ford Counties are urging drivers to travel for emergencies only.
The Illinois State Police District 21 is currently under winter weather advisory. As the storm continues to pass through the area, the roadways have become hazardous. Many roads are snow covered and slippery. The combination of snow and winds will cause roadways to become icy and dangerous to drive on. Troopers are currently handling a number of vehicles in the ditch.
Please contact your nearest police department if your vehicle becomes disabled or involved in a crash. If you must travel make sure someone is aware of your travel route, slow down, and buckle up.
