The National Weather Service (NWS) reported (Monday) it was an EF-1 tornado near Cabery, in Kankakee County, Sunday. The tornado touchdown carried wind speeds of 100 mph. It was about 200 yards wide and was on the ground for a little more than two-miles. No injuries were reported.
The NWS damage assessment team also investigated structure damage near Herscher and in Dwight in Livingston County.
Sunday’s storm left trees and power lines down in central-Illinois and NW Indiana. More than five and six inches of rain flooded roads.
