A large shed and its contents were destroyed in a fire Monday morning near Melvin in Ford County. Damage estimates were placed at about $400,000.

There was no injury at the Miller Farm at 1285 E and 800 N. Firemen from Melvin were assisted by Roberts, Elliott and Gibson City fire departments.

A passerby alerted emergency responders after observing the flames a little after 4 am.

The cause of the fire remained undetermined, but officials believed it may have been either a combine caught fire or there was an electrical issue.
