Farmers Almanac eyes Winter Season

If the Farmers' Almanac winter weather prediction holds true, Illinoisans better prepare for a rough winter.  The publication is warning readers that this winter will be filled with plenty of shaking, shivering and shoveling. Managing editor Sandi Duncan says the forecast comes from a formula that has been used since 1818.  Duncan says Illinois will experience the harshest weather at the first of the year.
Duncan says last year the Farmers' Almanac predicted many of the 2021-2022 winter storms, most notably the early-season nor’easter at the end of October and the April blizzard that hit the Central Plains.
