Three men are dead and a fourth injured after a one-car crash early today (Monday) on Illinois 45 at the I-57 exchange at Kankakee. A speeding car ran into a stop light, according to the Kankakee County Coroner's Office. Illinois State Police are handling the investigation.

Alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash. The southbound car, on Route 45, wound up in a culvert. The driver was ejected. Two other men who died were pinned in the wreckage. A fourth man survived.

Emergency personnel answered the call about 6 am. The crash may have happened an hour earlier.
