The White County Sheriff’s Office reports one person is dead after a crash between a pick-up and a semi on U.S. 421 Thursday.

The crash happened around 3:20 pm, just north of Monon.
41-year-old Aaron Jachim of Star City was the victim.

Sheriff Pat Shafer said a medical helicopter was brought in, but authorities say Jachim died at the scene.
Jachim was headed south in the pick-up when he hit a north-bound semi.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

U.S. 421 was closed for about 4 hours while deputies investigated the crash.
