Indiana State Police report one person is dead and five others injured after a crash in Benton County.

Details and identification of those involved are still under investigation.

Emergency personnel were called to the intersection of County Road 300 South and South Meridian Road, just south of Fowler, for an inverted car in a drainage ditch.

Benton County Sheriff’s deputies believe two cars collided at the intersection, with one rolling several times and landing upside down in the ditch.

A medical helicopter and ambulances from Tippecanoe and Benton counties were called to the scene.
