Emergency responders were on the scene of a fatal accident near Manteno this (Friday) morning. Illinois State Police reported it’s a multi-vehicle crash on Illinois Route 50 at West County Line Road (12000 N) at the Will County line. Manteno and Manhattan Fire Districts responded around 7:30 am.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area. The route was closed for the investigation. Three people were taken to an area hospital; one person died at the hospital.
