CRESCENT CITY -- An early-morning fire today (Wed) at the Spring Creek Campground, northwest of Crescent City, left a 60-year-old man dead.

Kenneth Sailer was pronounced dead at the scene AT 5:50 am by Coroner Bill Cheatum. The victim's body was discovered after the Crescent-Iroquois Fire department put the flames out.

Fire Chief Scott Schroeder said firemen arrived to find the trailer-home engulfed in flames. Fire and ambulance personnel were dispatched to 111 Black Oak Lane at about 4:30 am. Chief Schroeder said the fire's cause was under investigation.

The State Fire Marshall was at the scene. An autopsy was scheduled.
