Early voting has occupied a lot of peoples time over the last few weeks. One more of early voting is today. The polls are open tomorrow (Tuesday) from 6am ‘til 7 pm.
Party leaders were busy over the weekend. Rallies were held by Republicans and Democrats statewide and across the country.
County races offer voters choices in some limited contests in Iroquois, Ford, Kankakee and Vermilion counties. There are referenda questions for voters to decide too.
Congressional races are on the ballot in the 15the and 16th Districts. Republican John Shimkust is challenged Democrat Kevin Gaither. In the 16th District, Republican Adam Kinzinger has a challenge from Democrat Sara Dady.
Iroquois County voters have a choice for Treasurer. Kurt Albers is up against Bill Nutter. Three people are on the ballot for County Board in District 2. Two will be elected.
Vermilion County voters will decide if Republican Cathy Jenkins will continue as County Clerk. She’s challenged by Democrat Mary Roberson.
There’s races for County Board seats in Ford County.
Several contested races for County Board in Kankakee County are on the ballot, along with races for County Clerk and Treasurer.
The 79th District House seat finds a hot race between Lindsay Parkhurst and Lisa Dugan.
The city of Danville has a referendum question --- voters will finally decide whether the city should switch to having a city manager.
