An early morning fire heavily damaged a Benton County home Saturday.

It happened at a home on 109 South Fifth Street in Ambia, near the Indiana-Illinois border.
Fire crews were called there around 4 am . Reports indicated three people were in the home at the time of the fire. All three made it out safely.

The community has quickly rallied to help. A donation drive at the Hickory Grove Township Fire Department has been set up.

Clothes, shoes, coats are being collected. Donations will also be collected Monday. The extent of damage to the home is unknown.
