Fire destroys vacant Sheldon house

A fire of un-determined origin destroyed a vacant house in rural Sheldon Wednesday night. No injury was involved.

Sheldon Fire was assisted with mutual aide by Concord and Watseka Fire. The original call alerted Sheldon at 8:45 pm.to 1950 N and 2630 E. Firemen were at the scene intil Midnight. Sheldon was dispatched again at 3 am Thursday when the fire rekindled.

Sheldon Fire Chief Stan Molter reported the fire is believed to have started in the attic of the 2-story house, which was a rental unit owned by Charlie Darrough.
