A residential structure fire in Morocco, IN Wednesday is under investigation. The State Fire Marshall is looking into the blaze that destroyed the unoccupied home of Gerald Borne.
Mr. Borne died a day earlier. He was found dead in his home at 206 N. Clay Street.
The home and its contents are a total loss, according to Fire Chief Corrie Myers. Firemen found the house fully-involved in fire and smoke when they arrived at the scene about 11:32 am.
Chief Myers reported 33 firefighters from five departments battled the fire. One fireman was treated at the scene for a heat-related illness.
