Fireball Festival seeks parade entries

Crescent City’s Fireball Festival organizers are reaching out for participants to join the weekend fun – including entering the parade Saturday, June 14. The Festival is June 12 – 15 to remember Father’s Day 1970, when a train derailment and explosion erased much of the downtown area.

The Festival, every five years, celebrates the resilient, bounce-back spirits of the community folks and friends. The spirit led the charge to rebuild the Iroquois County town at Route 24 and 49. And the Fireball Festival continues to attract visitors, past and present, to share the glory of Crescent City’s spirit.

The Festival Parade is at 11 am, June 14. Entry forms are available on the Crescent City Fireball Festival Facebook page. The public can visit the website—www.fireballfestival.com/schedule

Businesses, schools, church groups and community organizations are welcome to line up for the parade. Registration forms are due by Friday, May 30. Completed registration forms can be mailed to Dave and Janice Trumble, PO Box 314, Crescent City, IL 60928 or email forms to This email address is being protected from spambots.
