A former automobile dealership building went up in flames overnight in Kankakee. What was the old Key City Chevrolet dealership at Court Street and Chicago Avenue sustained damage. Un-official reports claim the roof and walls collapsed. Explosions were heard by onlookers.

The fire alerted Kankakee firemen about 2 am. One firefighter was treated for an injury.
