Watseka Fire Chief Tim Ketchum reports a gap in the mortar of a residential fireplace caused flames to get into the wall and then the attic. Firemen answered a call to 616 S. 5th Street just before 5 pm Thursday. Firemen were able to control the fire quickly. No injury was reported. Firemen were at the scene about 90 minutes.
