Flooded roads reason for caution after 5-plus inches of rain

Motorists are urged to be aware of ponding and flooded routes this (Monday) morning. Flash flooding resulted after the Illiana area was hit with over five inches of rain in some communities. Rainfall amounts range from 1.6 to 6.5 (at Woodworth) in Iroquois County.

IDOT announced earlier Illinois Route 1 was closed from Watseka south to the Vermilion County line. The Route 1 viaduct at Milford was flooded.

Highway 1 south of Milford does have traffic moving again. The usual flooded roads in and near Milford are posing concern.
