Cissna Park and Rankin were among communities hard-hit by flooding today (Monday) after rainfall Sunday and Sunday night.  Homeowners reported flooded homes and basements as rising waters swept the area.  Routes 45 and 49 were closed, barricades in place.  Motorists are advised to seek another route.  Highway officials say never drive thru standing water, instead find another road.  

The NWS issued a Flood Warning for Kankakee County today (Monday).  It extends thru Wednesday.  A Flood Advisory is extended for Ford and Iroquois County until at least Wednesday.  

Strong T-storms Sunday impacted portions of Ford, Iroquois, Livingston and Kankakee counties.  Tornadoes were reported further south.
