Sixty-year-old Dewey Couch of Rankin suffered serious injury when he was ejected from his vehicle while he tried elude police. The Tuesday night accident happened on Route 47 at .50 N Road at 10:45 pm.  Counch ran his vehicle into a field where it overturned. Illinois State Police report Counch was fleeing without his lights on whe he sideswiped another car, then Couch ran off the roadway.  Gibson City Police had attempted a traffic stop.
