Ford County Fair underway, Queen Pageant Monday

                                        Parmalee performs Tuesday


The county fair season in Illiana got started Sunday. The Ford County summer event raised its curtain at the Melvin fairground. The fair runs seven days through Saturday, June 28.


Seven young ladies grace the stage tonight (Mon) competing for the title of Miss Ford County Fair Queen.
The country music band Parmalee headlines Tuesday with a concert. A special guest leads up to Parmalee. That's John King. Tickets are $20.


Wednesday's highlight is the talent show. Thirty-three acts are scheduled. Also Wednesday is a new event. A radio-controlled car event is featured Wednesday afternoon and evening. A Saturday afternoon radio-controlled car demonstration is also scheduled.


94.1 WGFA will broadcast "live" Wednesday.


The rodeo is back on Friday. On Saturday, the demolition derby promises to be even bigger and better this year.
Swyear Amusements will be on the midway this year.
