Heavy, constant rains Wednesday into Thursday led to flooded basements in Ford County.  Paxton and other communities are cleaning up while some residents say they haven't had flood problems like this in a long time. 

Emergency Management Agency Coordinator Terry Whitebird is asking citizens to document their damage, take pictures and submit the info to the EMA office for mitigation planning.  Whitebird said the documentation will assist in making future plans to deal with flooding.  The last time Ford County had such extensive flooding was in 2021 when Gibson City was hit hard. 

The EMA office and health officials advise people to use proper cleaning materials to disenfect belongings.
