In federal court in Urbana -- A Paxton man was sentenced to more than 10-years after he was convicted of trying to get a teen to have sex with him.  52-year-old Robert Shawn Anderson was fond guilty by a jury in October of 2021.  Jurors found that Anderson arranged to meet an individual he met on a dating app and believed to be a 15-year-old for sexual activity.
Anderson was arrested Valentine's Day weekend in 2020 during an FBI sting in Kankakee County. The FBI spearheaded the investigation and was helped by the Bradley Police Department, the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office and the Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group.

Anderson also faces five years of mandatory supervision once released from prison.
