Ford County Treasurer Krisha Shoemaker is announcing real estate tax bills should be in the mail by the middle of next month. The 2018 statements, payable here in 2019, will be mailed by mid-June.

That would make the due date for payment of the first installment in mid-July. Late payments will be assessed a 1.5 percent penalty per month.

Taxes may be paid at any Ford County bank or at the treasurer’s office at the courthouse during regular business hours. (8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday). There is also a drop-box outside the front door of the courthouse.

Iroquois County tax bills delayed…

Iroquois County Treasurer Kurt Albers says due to extenuating circumstances beyond Iroquois County’s control, the 2018 payable in 2019 real estate tax bills have not yet been computed, printed, or mailed.

Release of the tax bills may be delayed from 30 to 60 days. Once the tax bills are mailed, the first due date will be 30 days later.
