Ford County State’s Attorney race shapes up for 2016

Two Republican candidates have surfaced in a developing race for State's Attorney in Ford County.

The 2015 March primary will find 44-year-old Lance Cagle of Fisher seeking the prosecutor's job along with 39-year-old Andrew Killian of Gibson City. Cagle announced Monday he'll seek the office. Killian had already announced his intention to seek the office now held by Randy Yedinak.

Yedinak was appointed in June of 2014. He announced he will not seek re-election as Ford County State's Attorney. Instead, Yedinak will run for the prosecutor's job in Livingston County.

Cagle is a lawyer practicing in Bloomington and Paxton. He lives in Fisher.

Killian announced his intent to seek the office in July. He's been practicing for 14 years and has worked with the DCFS the last five years. Killian was assistant state's Attorney in DeWitt County from 2003 to 2008.
