The Iroquois County Board (Tuesday) approved a resolution allowing Ford County Highway Engineer Greg Perkinson to serve as Acting-Iroquois County Engineer until Joel Moore’s replacement can be hired. The County Highway Committee (with support of the local Highway employees and Township Highway Commissioners) had shown support for Perkinson last week.
"The staff in Iroquois County will make this a smooth transition, there's three capable people in place and with the Board support it'll work out," Perkinson told WGFA News.
Assistant-Engineer Doug Butzow says he’s confident with Perkinson’s lead role. Perkinson said the two counties have worked well together in the past and that’ll continue.
There’s no timetable how soon a Joel Moore replacement will be hired. Perkinson says the Iroquois County Highway Committee will determine the process and the progress.
