The former bishop of the Joliet Diocese is expected to deliver a message at the funeral of Cardinal Francis George Thursday. Before he died Friday morning, the former Archbishop of Chicago invited Seattle Archbishop J. Peter Sartain to deliver the homily at his funeral mass.

Sartain served as the leader of the Joliet Diocese from 2006 to 2010.

Services for Cardinal George begin today. Visitation runs today and Wednesday at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago. The public is welcome. Thursday's funeral is limited to those with tickets.
