Former Kankakee Fire Chief dies

Former Kankakee Fire Chief David St. John died Monday. He was 75.  He joined the city department in 1968.  During his 27 years with the department, St. John served at various ranks, promoted to Chief in 1993 and retiring in 1996. During a portion of his career, St. John was Captain in charge of the Fire Prevention Bureau and served as a Fire Investigator.
