Former Limestone Fire Chief, Brosseau, apologizes for Theft

Kankakee County Judge Clark Erickson delayed the sentencing of former Limestone Fire Chief Jeff Brosseau. Another court date is set for next Friday (Oct 11th).

Brosseau admitted stealing $55,000 from the Kankakee Valley Firemen's Association. He faces anywhere from probation to seven-years in prison.

Erickson is considering local jail time of nights or weekends as means of punishment.

Brosseau pleaded guilty, admitting his fault while using the money to pay debts not to buy personal items. The former fire chief actually paid back $19,000 of the money stolen before he was charged. The theft took place between December of 2006 thru early 2009.
