Former State Representative Bill Black passed away Saturday. He was 81. The veteran member of the Illinois General Assembly was a voice for Iroquois and Vermilion counties. He served the legislative seat dating back to 1986.
The Danville Republican was a former Assistant Minority Leader for the Illinois House.
Black is survived by his wife, Sharon, and two children.
In addition to years of service in the General Assembly, Black was also held positions as an educator. He was a member of the Danville Area Community College Board of Directors and also served as an Alderman in the Danville City Council. He was also a past member of the Vermilion County Board.
