Four people were trapped on the second floor during a house fire in Kankakee Monday evening. All four were rescued. No injuries reported. The residents were found on the upper floor at 1361 S. Kensington Avenue when firemen answered the call about 8:30 pm. Kankakee Fire Chief Brian LaRoche reported the first floor fire hampered the residents upstairs. They were all displaced after the fire was put out in about 20 minutes, with help from neighboring departments.
Damage estimates were not available. The cause is under investigation.
