The applicants of four attorneys are on file as they look to become Ford County's next state's attorney. Applications will be reviewed and interviews conducted in May.
Attorneys Lance Camp of Paxton, Andrew Killian of Gibson City, Erik Gibson of Galesburg and Randy Yedinak of Pontiac have all applied for the for the state's attorney's job. One of them will be selected to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of now-state's attorney Matt Fitton to a Ford County judgeship.
Republican party leaders and a panel of other local officials will interview the candidates. The Republican precinct committeemen and special panel will make recommendations for the county board's consideration on who should be appointed. The county board is expected to vote on approval of that candidate at its June 9 meeting.
