July 4th celebrations are back on the calendar this year after a year's absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Area communities with planned events include those in Iroquois, Ford, Kankakee and Vermilion counties. Cities/Towns hosting events are Watseka, Donovan, Iroquois, Cissna Park, Paxton, Kankakee, Manteno, Aroma Park.
Watseka > Fireworks Friday night at Dusk. Saturday offers Pancake & Sausage Breakfast at St. Edmunds Catholic Church 7-10 am. Parade at 10 am sponsorfed by the City of Watseka and Watseka Area Chamber of Commerce. Old Courthouse Cook-Out at the Red Barn 12 - 3 pm, sponsored by Iroquois County Historical Society. Scavenger Hunt and Street Dance, spnsored by the Watseka Family Festival and Elk's Club.
Donovan > American Legion Post #633 welcomes public to a Biscuits & Sausage Gravy Breakfast 7 - 11 am at the Donovan Park. Donations accepted.
Iroquois > Patriotic Church Service at Dunning Park 10 am on July 4, sponsored by United Methodist Churches.
Manteno > July 3 Fireworks Show at Sportsmen's Club. Southiside Social Club also performs on the Patio.
Aroma Park > Boat Club hosts Cheeseburgers & Fireworks Friday, July 2.
Kankakee > KCC grounds welcomes public to Live Music and Fieworks Show, $20 per carload.
Paxton > Old-Fashioned 4th of July Celebration, 37th annual event at Pells Park. Activities all day with Fireworks at 9 pm, sponsored by City of Paxton.
Cissna Park > Fireworks at Kellart Lake.
