Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fowler Police Department at 765-884-0080.

Police responded to a call last Wednesday asking authorities to check on the well-being of a 49-year-old woman and her 68-year-old mother at a residence on E. 5th Street. Officers were unable to contact anyone, but returned later that night to meet with family members.

Police report they determined a 49-year-old woman was inside and appeared to be in medical distress. Officers forced entry into the home and the woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she died from medical-related issues Thursday evening.

Indiana State Police joined the investigation. A search warrant was issued and the case is now considered a crime scene.

Authorities turned their focus on the missing 68-year-old mother, Nena Metoyer, of Dunedin, Florida, who had been staying with her daughter in Fowler since August 5th. She is described as being 5-feet 1-inch tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. They said she sometimes wears glasses.

Police said Metoyer's vehicle was still at the residence, but her whereabouts are unknown.
