The Eastern Illinois Foodbank is partnering with the John Cadle Foundation in hosting a free food give-away Saturday in Hoopeston. The food distribution is at the Civic Center at McFerren Park. It begins at 10 am.

All Vermilion County residents needing food are welcome to attend the event. There are qualifying requirements. To be eligible, a household must have an income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level; that’s at about $3,746 for a family of four.

Local companies or organizations are invited to contribute toward a one day food distribution. The cost to partner with the Foodbank for a distribution is $3,000.
