The annual Bourbonnais Friendship Festival is set for Wednesday, June 21 rujnning thru that weekend. This year's theme "Friendship ... How Sweet It Is!"

Several popular events are included in the weekend fun. New to the festivities this year is a car, truck and bike show on Saturday, June 24. The show will take place from noon to 5 p.m.

The festival also will include a fishing derby Saturday, June 24, at the Municipal Center pond from 9 a.m. to noon, a 5K run/walk at 7:30 a.m. and a performance from the Jessie White Tumblers at 7 p.m. the same day.

A number of bands also will be featured at the friendship festival including Nick Galik and the Gamblers, High Anxiety, Coopers Grove Band and Boots-N-Motion.
