Frost likely later this week

The National Weather Service reports parts of east-central Illinois is likely to experience its first frost this week. Colder air will move into the area late this week behind a weak cold front expected to move through the area Thursday night. A clear sky and light winds will combine with temperatures falling into the 30s creating ideal conditions for frost to develop both Friday and Saturday night.

Friday night's low is expected to be around 34 degrees, and Saturday night could see temperatures fall to a freezing 32.

Precautions are advised if you have flowers or other plants outdoors.

Although night-time lows are expected to dip near freezing Friday and Saturday night, day-time highs on Saturday and Sunday are expected to be near 55 and 58 Sunday.
