The National Weather Service is following up on reports of funnel cloud sightings in parts of west-central Indiana. The last couple of days, listeners have reported seeing funnels near Indianapolis and now in Benton County too.

Citizens have spotted funnel clouds near Oxford and Fowler in Benton County Tuesday evening.

The NWS didn not issue any warnings, but local emergency management officials said they sounded sirens because of rotation in the clouds.

Emergency management officials will send information about the funnel clouds to the National Weather Service for further study.
