Video poker machines are more prevalent and profitable than ever before, but some lawmakers and local leaders are looking to do something about them. Illinois has enough gambling machines to fill 24 full-sized casinos. State Sen. Jason Barickman said he hears competing concerns about the proliferation but also about the revenue. Illinois brought in almost $1.5 billion in gaming to the state’s coffers, with local governments getting a cut, too.
