A Newton County jury has convicted Ashley Garth of murder. The guilty verdict came back against the 29-year-old Garth for the March 2019 strangulation death of Nicole Bowen.  The verdict was on charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and assistiung a criminal.  A sentencing date for Garth is set for June 9 in Newton Superior Court.

Co-defendant 23-year-old Garritt Kirts is already serving a 55-year prison term for his role in the murder.

The victim, Nicole Bowen’s body was found wrapped in a blanket inside a semi parked at a rural hunting area north of Kentland. An autopsy revealed Bowen was strangled.
