Heading into the weekend, gasoline prices continue to escalate. AAA shows the average for gas has reached a six month high in Illinois, averaging over $4 a gallon, but much higher in the Chicago area. The national average for a gallon of gas is $3.68. Illinois’ neighboring states are much lower. Indiana is close to the national average, but gas is averaging $3.43 in Kentucky, and $3.38 in Missouri.
