The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of an early-morning house fire in Gibson City Monday. Firemen from five departments answered the call around 3:30 am to 12th Street and Lott Boulevard. Flames were observed coming from two sides of the 2-story house.
Firefighters had the flames controlled in about two hours, but the house was a total loss.
Family members reportedly drove themselves to the hospital. The extent of any injuries wasn’t known. No firemen were injured.
Friends have set up a GoFundMe account to help the family.
Gibson City Fire reported mutual aid came from Paxton, Sibley, Mlevin, Roberts and Elliott.
