Gibson City woman's death called "unavoidable accident"

Gibson City Police Chief Adam Rosendahl said  the death of a 77-year-old woman was a 'terrible tragedy.'  Carol Leisure of Gibson City was a life-long local resident.  She  died of injuries after she was run over by a car in a business parking lot March 18.  The police chief said they don;t know for sure what happened.  But it'sbelieved the victim had fallen outside her car and another driver wasn't aware of if and backed over the woman.  The driver was not aware she backed over someone until after it happened.  Police do not know what caused Ms. Leisure to fall, but there were heavy rains and standing water in the parking lot.  Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup said an autopsy showed Leisure died of blunt force trauma as a result of being run over.
