A man suffered two gunshot wounds in Gilman Tuesday night. The victim is in stable condition at Carle Hospital in Urbana. A person of interest is in custody.
Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police and Gilman Police are investigating.
Authorities responded to the shooting outside the Pilot Gas Station/Truck Stop about 9:30 pm. Sheriff’s Police report they discovered a male inside the gas station had two gunshot wounds to his upper body.
IMH ambulance personnel treated the victim. He was taken to Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka, then transferred to Urbana. The un-identifed victim was in stable condition.
The investigation revealed the shooting had occurred behind the Pilot gas station near the semi-truck parking lot. Illinois State Police located the person of interest in Champaign County.
